Vehicle Description Details This partially refurbished U.
S.
spec 1970 Volkswagen Type 1 convertible Beetle was purchased new by its current owner.
The owner states that the powerplant, an air-cooled 1.
6L flat-four engine, is original and was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago.
The engine sends power through a manual four-speed transaxle to the rear wheels.
The car is the recipient of a re-spray in Cobalt Blue that was also performed about 10 years ago and is said to be the original color of the car.
The white convertible top was recently replaced as was the matching interior in white vinyl.
The owner fitted the car with a modern Pioneer stereo and a new aftermarket carburetor.
In addition, the car is offered with an uninstalled aftermarket AC unit.
The odometer reads 58,236 miles, but the owner notes that it has turned over.
The car is currently located in Appling, Georgia.
Third-party photos of the Beetle were taken, and an inspection was completed.
The results show a clean car that has been well maintained and survived in good condition since 1970.
The exterior and interior have both been refinished and show only minor wear that is typical of a car that has only been driven about 2000 miles in the last 20 years, notes the owner.
The manual top actuates as designed, and the inspection reports that the car runs and drives as it should.
Included in the sale are the original carburetor, hubcaps, convertible top cover, the AC unit, and one set of keys.
This VW Beetle is being sold through a CLASSIC.
COM Pro and is located in Appling, Georgia.

About the model The Volkswagen Type 1, or Beetle, was first introduced in 1938.
The Type 1 was the result of the Third Reich's vision for a 'Volks Wagen' (meaning People's Car in English), an inexpensive and simple car for the German public.
Engineered by Ferdinand Porsche, the rear engined Type 1 was a revolution in packaging and design when it was released.
The Type 1 Beetle has become a cultural icon since its creation and is one of the world's most produced cars.
The Beetle was sold as a sedan or convertible, although it is common to find many Beetles modified to different body styles.
Many variants have been offered over the years, with one of the most well known being the Super Beetle.
The Type 1 remained in production until 2003, ending its 65 year production run, although sales of the Type 1 Beetle ended in 1979 for the US and Canada.
